Landscaping PPC Case Study: Increased Lead Flow 73% In 30 Days

The Setup

The Horstmann Brothers Landscaping account was unfortunately not a unique one. Here we have an established company (operating since 1988) operating in a great market (St.Louis) and ran by good business people who take pride in their service and deliver consistent high quality work. The company however has had a challenging time gaining local exposure to people who are actively searching for landscaping services. They are getting very few leads or calls from their website and frustrated with their feast or famine business that is delivering unpredictable cash flow. Knowing that the landscaping space can be quite competitive I expected that the project might be difficult, but with the right strategy and my experience I would be able to increase their lead and call flow and save this business from marketing mediocrity.

Landing Page Strategy: Creating a high converting landing page is a crucial component to generating leads and calls from any advertising campaign. Adding customer testimonials, trust triggers, and plenty of strategic calls to action all helped this landing page to convert website visitors to leads and ultimately customers.

My War Plan

My strategy varies from client to client and industry to industry. My focus with the Horstmann Brothers was creating a high converting landing page for their ad visitors to come to, creating obvious and well tested calls to action, and strategically researching and implementing landscaping adgroups/adwords that I knew would draw high converting buyer traffic to their landscaping website daily. I initiated the first set of keywords to run ads for as well as tweaking and adjusting geo locations, ad-extentions and of course the copywriting for the ads themselves. After month one the client screamed “uncle” and had me pause the campaign for a few days so they could catch their breath and implement new systems to handle the influx of new call and website leads I had created through the campaign. I get a kick out of overwhelming a company and seeing the look on their face when things are rocking. Especially if they were unsure if it would even work to begin with.
